The Shakers adapted their blanket boxes and chests from earlier colonial types.
They often served as storage chests in "retiring rooms".
Handsomely designed with hand dovetailed joinery and bottom lined with aromatic cedar,
we offer them in two sizes, in Cherry or Maple.
The larger chest is the same width as a twin bed.

A set of steps such as this enables one to efficiently access the tallest chests
of drawers and built-in cupboards.
Ours derives from an original Two Stepper, made by the Hancock Shakers around 1835,
but features broader steps for far greater stability.
Its clean profile, with crisp dovetailed joinery, is truly in step with the times.
Handrubbed to a satin smooth oil finish in your choice of Cherry (shown in photo), Walnut or Maple.

Also called a "cricket", the original was made at Hancock in the mid-19th century.
It may have served as a bench, stepstool or footstool.
The half-dovetailed angled braces, delicate proportions and durable construction are typically Shaker.
Available in Cherry or Walnut (shown in photo).
